Winchester Cathedral is arguably one of the most significant historic buildings in England. The Cathedral played a central role in England’s history during the middle ages and has been a place of Worship ever since. The built fabric contains many layers of archaeology, and is home to a wealth of art treasures and artifacts.
Nick Cox has been the appointed Cathedral Architect at Winchester since 2011, advising on conservation and repairs to the historic fabric.
The Practice is currently working on a new visitor exhibition in the South Transept, conservation of stonework and stained glass in the Presbytery, roofing works and visitor welcome arrangements. This £13 million project has received HLF funding and work is currently underway.
