Nick Cox Architects was established in 2006 and is based in north Oxfordshire. The practice also has offices in London and Frome, Somerset. The practice specialises in the repair and conservation of historic buildings and the design of new buildings in historic contexts.
The reroofing project at The Vyne - a 16th Century manor owned by the National Trust - has been successful in winning the RICS South East Conservation Award 2019. Andrew and Nick attended the awards ceremony yesterday evening with other members of the project team.
RICS Judges praised the project team for their careful attention to detail and high level of investigative work before the contract started. This ensured a highly quality scheme coming in under budget.
NCA are currently working on The Grand Bridge at Blenheim Palace. There is little documentation into the history of how the rooms within the bridge would have been used. The complex arrangement of internal spaces and blocked openings are hints to how the structure has evolved through time.
