Cotswold Manor Pool House
| The project involves the construction of a new pool and poolhouse in the gardens of a 17th century/early 18th century Cotswold manor house. The design approach has drawn on the buildings and materials of the locality. This has generated a building with relatively simple external form. However, the introduction of more contemporary detailing to the openings and interior creates a play between the natural stone and thatch and the crisp lines of glass and steel. |
The siting of the new poolhouse creates a three sided courtyard, orientated to the south, which provides privacy. It provides space for a gym, changing room, steam room and shower. The pool design is integrated into the overall concept and its link to the gardens has been developed in conjunction with a garden designer. |
